Nurturing Your Creative Ideas

images-1Recognizing and Pursuing the Ideas That God Has Placed Within You
At some point in our lives, we have all had what we would call an “ah-ha” moment…where an idea suddenly springs into our head, or we figure out a new way to complete a task.

Many times we dismiss these ideas and do nothing. We may feel that it’s impossible or not at all feasible. In some cases, however, these “ah-ha” moments are actually given by the Holy Spirit. Many people pray for God to prosper them, and sometimes these creative ideas are actually visions how God intends to do so!

When we have an idea, how can we be sure it is from God?  One thing that you can do is pray for discernment.  Discernment, or good judgement, will help you separate the will of God for your life, from the deception and lies of the enemy. Another way to figure out if something is from God is to ask Him for confirmation. Confirmation is evidence or proof that makes something clear.

I have done this when an idea that God gives me make absolutely no sense to me. The Bible does say, though, that “For my thoughts are not your thoughts and my ways are not your ways” – Isaiah 55:8.  Please understand that it may not be meant for us to understand God’s plan perfectly. When you get a creative idea and bring it before God, you can step out on faith.  He will reward your trust in Him. (Hebrews 11:6)

In order to see your dreams, passions and purpose grow and bear fruit, you have to protect them. In scripture, it says that there is both life and death in the power of the  tongue (Proverbs 18:21) and both blessings and curses can’t come from the same mouth (James 3:11).

That being said, you cannot allow doubt cause you to speak curses over what you are working toward.  Curses, or negative talk, can  actually cancel out blessings. So be careful to surround yourself with people who are going to speak life and blessings into whatever it is that you are trying to do.

Another way to nurture your dream is to stand firmly on the promises of God. The Kingdom of God is not a microwave kingdom; things just don’t happen overnight. There is a process for everything. When you allow God to take you through the process step by step, you will appreciate it more when you reach the top.  If you are acting according to Gods will and purpose, He is not going to leave you without help.  God takes care of His children!!  Just remember to keep Him first in all you do.

You have Free Will. When you start chasing your own agenda, He will let you. That’s how creative ideas can fail.
